Fees for changes to existing plans are charged according to the number of changes desired and how those changes affect other parts of the house. Adding square footage to a room, for example, may impact adjoining rooms as well as the exterior elevation. For custom home designs we often start with one of our existing plans and make modifications or we can develop an entirely new plan customized with the details you want in your new home. We might have already done something close to what you are trying to achieve which would more than likely be more cost effective for you and more timely. The custom home design process can take longer but is well worth the time invested to get exactly what you want. Flat fees for custom home design from start to finish are based on a set schedule of design, review, changes and approval within a specific time frame. Payment is spread throughout the design schedule.
